THE STONELEIGH STEPS by J.T.A. Reddy
IF break you seek in harder days delays,
Or faith and pain devoid of joy remains,
Remember; dogged days can bear no teeth,
that blunted eyes betray no love beneath,
as victory is not the battles won
but days where you refused to be undone.
So from tonight until tomorrow falls,
your soul’s a tower, tall above my walls,
and what a view above the fear below,
to sow the seeds to sprout and friends to grow,
so
as long as clouds can dream and dreams can roam,
I’ll be your house; and you can be my home.
